Example report

Part of a report for a fictional resume. A real report lists every check, with the largest point losses first and a fix for each problem.

  • Quantified achievements

    Warning

    3 of 11 achievement lines include a number (27%).

Fix: Aim for half your bullets to carry a number: a percentage, a dollar amount, a headcount, or a time saved.

  • Weak phrases and cliches

    Warning

Found 2: "responsible for", "team player".

Fix: Replace each with the result. "Responsible for reporting" becomes "Cut month-end reporting from 5 days to 1".

  • Single-column layout

    Passed

Single column, no tables, no images.

  • Machine-readable text

    Passed

    412 words extracted cleanly.

  • Contact information

    Passed

Found an email address, a phone number, a city and state.

Common questions

What files can I check?

PDF, DOCX, or TXT files up to 5 MB. A scanned PDF that holds only an image of the page has no text for a parser to read, and the machine-readable text check reports that.

Do you keep my resume?

No. We read the file and any job description you paste to run the check, then discard them. We do not store either one, we do not send either to an AI model, and you do not need an account. The privacy policy has the details.

Does an AI model grade my resume?

No. Every check is a fixed rule, such as counting the achievement lines that include a number, comparing date formats, or looking for tables and text boxes a parser might skip.

Does it work for hourly, trade, and care resumes?

Yes. When the resume names hourly, trade, or care work, such as a warehouse, a restaurant, an apprenticeship, or a nursing assistant license, the check expects fewer numbers and a shorter resume, and accepts "Responsible for" and "Assisted with", which are the usual way to describe those duties. Verbs such as operated, served, installed, and repaired count as strong for every resume, and a Licenses, Certifications, or Training heading counts toward Education. The check reads this from your resume alone, so a pasted job description never changes it.

What does the score predict?

Nothing about hiring. The score measures how closely the resume follows common resume and parsing practices. It is not a ranking from any applicant tracking system and does not predict whether you will get an interview. When too little of the resume can be assessed, for example when little text could be read, the report lists the checks without an overall score.

What does the job posting comparison do?

It shows the share of words in the posting, leaving out common filler words, that also appear in your resume. It is a basic word overlap, and it does not change your score.
