What BespokeJobs does
BespokeJobs reads your resume, ranks live job openings against it, writes a tailored resume and cover letter for the jobs you choose, and tracks the applications you send. You apply on the employer's own listing.
Job matching with a score breakdown
Upload one resume, and BespokeJobs ranks live job openings against the profile it builds from it.
- Each match shows a score breakdown across factors such as skills overlap, title alignment, seniority, location, and how closely the job's content resembles your experience.
- Set your target roles, preferred locations, and work arrangement, and change them as your search changes.
- Written explanations do not change a score, and employers cannot pay to rank higher.
- Star a match to find it later, or mark it not interested.
- Openings come from employer career sites, civilian federal openings from USAJOBS, and the job boards 4 Day Week, Hacker News, Himalayas, Jobicy, Remote OK, Remotive, startup.jobs, The Muse, We Work Remotely, and Working Nomads.
Tailored resumes and a cover letter
For any match you choose, BespokeJobs drafts application documents from your profile and the job description.
- A plain Word (.docx) resume built for applicant tracking systems to read.
- A formatted PDF resume for the people reviewing your application, in the template you pick.
- A cover letter for the same role, as a Word (.docx) file.
- Generating documents needs a verified email address. Review every claim before you apply, because no tool can promise a resume will pass an applicant tracking system.
Application tracker
Keep every job you applied to in one list and record where each one stands.
- Mark a job as applied from your shortlist, or from a job you found in search, and it appears on your Applications page.
- Add a job you applied to on another site. Paste its link to fill in the title and company, or type them yourself.
- Move each application through Applied, Screening, Interviewing, Offer, Rejected, or Withdrawn.
- Add notes to each application, such as a contact name or an interview date.
- Filter by status, search the list, and sort by last update, date applied, or company.
- An application still at Applied, Screening, or Interviewing with no status change in 14 days is flagged, so you can see which ones to follow up on.
- Jobs you track drop out of your job search results.
Free resume checker
Check any resume against common applicant tracking system and resume practices, with no account.
- Upload a PDF, DOCX, or TXT file up to 5 MB and get a score on a weighted rubric across parseability, sections, impact, style, and consistency.
- Every check is a fixed rule. The checker sends nothing to an AI model and does not keep your file.
- Paste a job description to see the share of its words that also appear in your resume. That comparison does not change the score.
- The score measures resume practices. It is not a ranking from any applicant tracking system and does not predict whether you will be hired.
Job search without signing in
Search the live US job openings BespokeJobs tracks without uploading a resume.
- Filter by keyword, role family, state or metro area, work mode, pay floor, seniority, industry, employment type, skills, and posted date, and sort by date or pay.
- Without an account, you see the first five results with employer names hidden. A free account shows employers and pages through more results.
- Signed in, you can mark a job you found as applied, and it joins your application tracker.
Match emails
Get your top matches by email instead of checking the site.
- New accounts get a weekly email of their top matches unless they turn it off at sign-up.
- Switch it to daily or turn it off in account settings, or unsubscribe from any digest email.
- Reminder emails, such as a reminder to upload your resume, have their own setting.
Job market insights and advertised pay
Public figures from the live job postings BespokeJobs tracks, free to read and reuse.
- Insights pages show the number of live US job postings, the fully remote share, where the jobs are, which job types and industries have the most openings, and which employers post the most.
- Advertised pay pages show the median and middle 50 percent of base pay advertised in postings that list pay, by role family.
- Each figure shows the postings and date behind it, and the figures are published under CC BY 4.0.
Resume and ATS guides
Sourced guidance on how resumes are written and read, with citations.
- The resume guide explains how BespokeJobs drafts tailored resumes and cover letters, and the guidance it follows.
- The ATS guide covers what Workday, Greenhouse, and Oracle Taleo document about reading resumes and searching candidates.
