Resume tailoring

AI resume tailoring: a resume rewritten for each job you choose

BespokeJobs is an AI resume tailor that starts from your own profile. Pick a job from your shortlist, and it drafts a resume for that role in two formats. It does not invent experience to match a posting.

Two resumes for every job

Each time you tailor a resume to a job description, you get two files, because two different readers see your application.

  • An ATS resume (.docx): a single column with no graphics or tables and the standard section headings that applicant tracking systems expect. Use it when you upload to an employer's application form.
  • A formatted resume (.pdf) in the template you pick, for the people who review your application. The template changes how the resume looks and the order of its sections, not what it says.

It only uses what your profile supports

An AI model tailors your profile to the job. It also sees the posting and the summary from your match, but only as context. The content comes from your profile, and the posting's wording is borrowed only where it describes something you have done.

Employers, job titles, dates, education, and licenses are copied straight from your profile. Every skill must match one you listed, and each rewritten bullet must belong to a real entry in your experience. We do not fact-check the wording itself, so read the draft and fix anything inaccurate before you apply.

The resume guide explains the rules and the advice they come from. The tailored resume examples show a before and after for a fictional candidate in each of several fields, including the posting requirements the resume leaves out because the profile does not support them.

How this differs from keyword stuffing

Keyword stuffing means pasting a posting's phrases into your resume whether or not they are true. MIT's career office warns against it, and you have to be able to account for everything on your resume in an interview.

The tailoring does the opposite. It lists your most relevant skills first and opens each bullet with the result that matters most for the role. It uses a posting's keywords only where they fit naturally. A skill you never listed is never added, and a draft that names one is rejected.

No tool can promise a resume will pass an applicant tracking system. To see how a resume reads to a parser, run it through the free resume checker.

Free during beta

Job matching is always free. Everything else, including this, is free during beta, with no credit card required. If paid features are added later, their pricing and terms will be shown before you pay for anything.

Generating a resume needs a verified email address, and your profile needs at least one experience entry and one skill. If the AI model is unavailable, you get a profile-based resume instead, labeled in the app.

Open a match you want, pick a PDF template, and generate the tailored resume.

  4. 04

    Read, fix, and apply

Download the ATS .docx and the formatted .pdf, correct anything inaccurate, and apply on the employer's own listing.

Common questions

Is the AI resume tailor free?

Job matching is always free. Everything else, including this, is free during beta, with no credit card required. If paid features are added later, their pricing and terms will be shown before you pay for anything.

Will it add skills or experience I do not have?

No. The model is told to use only facts and numbers from your profile, every skill has to match one you listed, and a final check compares the finished resume's work history and skills to your profile. If they do not match, the resume is not saved.

Which file should I send, the .docx or the .pdf?

Use the .docx when an employer's system asks you to upload a resume, since it is built for software to read. Use the .pdf when a person will read it, such as a resume you email to a recruiter.

What happens if the AI model is unavailable?

You get a profile-based resume instead. It keeps your bullets and skill order as written, uses your profile summary, and adds the role you are applying for. The app labels it so you know it was not tailored.
