About this example
This example shows what the generator is told to do and what it checks, as described in the resume guide. A real draft is written by an AI model from your own profile, so its wording will differ from this one, and from one run to the next. When the model is unavailable you get a profile-based resume instead, which the guide also describes.
Below is the text of the ATS resume (.docx). The human-readable PDF has the same content in the template you pick. Neither this example nor any draft predicts how an employer's hiring software will rank a resume.

What changed, and why
- The close result leads, in the XYZ shape. The posting is built around month-end close and improving it, so the faster close moves to the top of the current role and into the summary: the result, the measure (eight days to five), then how.
- Multi-entity work moves up. The posting has the accountant own close for several entities, so the intercompany bullet stays third and the summary names the U.S. and Canadian entities.
- NetSuite is named where the profile names it. The fixed asset bullet moves ahead of the audit bullet because it names NetSuite, which the posting asks for, and NetSuite moves up the skills.
- GAAP and Excel stay as skills. Both are in the profile, so both are listed. The resume does not add "US", "strong", or "advanced", which the profile does not say.
- The title stays Staff Accountant. Job titles are copied from the profile, so the resume never relabels Parker as a senior accountant to match the posting.
- Degree and years come from the profile. The accounting degree is copied unchanged, and six years comes from the experience dates.
- Facts are copied, not written. Name, contact details, job titles, employers, dates, education, and certification names come straight from the profile. The model only chooses their order where order can change.

What it left out
Parker's profile does not support these, so neither the resume nor the cover letter claims them:
- CPA or CPA eligible. The profile lists no CPA and does not say Parker is eligible. Eligibility depends on state rules the profile does not cover, so neither document implies it.
- Flux or variance analysis. Not in the profile.
- Consolidation, ASC 606, and SOX. The profile shows intercompany reconciliations, not consolidation, and does not mention ASC 606 or SOX.
- Hybrid work. The profile does not say where Parker can work.
Code checks only the resume's structure. Every entry in the Skills section has to match a skill in the profile, and every job title, employer, and date has to match an experience entry. A draft that fails either check is not used. Nothing checks the free text. The summary, the bullets, and the whole cover letter could still mention a skill, tool, or number the profile does not hold. Keeping them to the profile is an instruction to the model, not a check, so read every draft before you send it. If you do have a skill a posting asks for, add it to your profile before you generate.

Application for Senior Accountant at Example Medical Devices
Dear Hiring Team,
The Senior Accountant role at Example Medical Devices centers on month-end close, which is where I have made my biggest difference at Example Midwest Manufacturing. I cut our close from eight business days to five by building reconciliation templates and moving accrual entries earlier in the month. I have six years of accounting experience, from accounts payable to the general ledger, and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Example State University.
Your posting asks for someone to own close for assigned entities and to keep improving it. Each month I prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations for 14 accounts, and I reconcile intercompany balances between our U.S. and Canadian entities. I work in NetSuite and Excel, and my skills include account reconciliation, journal entries, GAAP, intercompany accounting, audit support, and fixed assets.
Before that, as an accounts payable specialist at Sample Logistics Group, I processed about 400 vendor invoices a week with three-way matching against purchase orders and receipts, and ran the weekly check and ACH payment batch. I also cleared a backlog of 900 unmatched invoices in four months. Each of those roles sits on a different part of the cycle, so I have seen an invoice from receipt through payment to the close.
I would welcome the chance to talk about your close process, the entities you would want me to own, and how I could help improve the close. I would bring the same approach to your team. Thank you for your time and for considering my application.
Sincerely,
Parker Example
- The first sentence names the role and the company, and the opening leads with the close result and its numbers.
- The letter does not mention the audit work or the NetSuite migration. Those bullets are fourth and fifth in the profile, past the three highlights per role the letter sees, though NetSuite still appears from the skills list.
- It claims no CPA and no CPA eligibility.
- It runs 254 words, within the 250 to 350 the model is asked for, and closes by asking for a conversation and thanking the reader.
- The letter is written from a shorter view of the profile: the three most recent roles with their first three highlights each, the first 12 skills, the certifications, and education without dates.

How this example was made: we wrote it by hand, following the instructions the generator gives the AI model and the checks it runs, rather than running the generator. A real draft from the same profile would word things differently.
