About this example
This example shows what the generator is told to do and what it checks, as described in the resume guide. A real draft is written by an AI model from your own profile, so its wording will differ from this one, and from one run to the next. When the model is unavailable you get a profile-based resume instead, which the guide also describes.
Below is the text of the ATS resume (.docx). The human-readable PDF has the same content in the template you pick. Neither this example nor any draft predicts how an employer's hiring software will rank a resume.

What changed, and why
- Scope stands in for results. The profile has few outcome numbers, and the generator never invents one. So the bullets lead with scope that is there: a CEO and three vice presidents, 120 expense reports a month, a 250-person event.
- Expense work moves up. The posting names Concur, and the profile does too, so the expense report bullet moves to second and Concur moves up the skills.
- The event bullet moves ahead of supplies. The posting asks for event planning, so the safety meeting bullet moves above ordering supplies, and the summary closes with it.
- Office skills are listed in the posting's order. Outlook, Word, and Excel appear in the order the posting names them, with the Word certification beside them. The resume does not add "advanced", which the profile does not say.
- The construction employer needs no extra words. The posting would like construction experience. The employer name and the safety meeting already show it, so the resume adds nothing to point it out.
- Facts are copied, not written. Name, contact details, job titles, employers, dates, education, and certification names come straight from the profile. The model only chooses their order where order can change.

What it left out
Quinn's profile does not support these, so neither the resume nor the cover letter claims them:
- A notary public commission, or willingness to get one. The profile has no notary commission and says nothing about getting one, so neither document promises it.
- QuickBooks. Not in the profile.
- Discretion with confidential information. This is a quality, not a fact in the profile. The resume shows the executive support and the patient records work instead of claiming the trait.
- On-site work. Quinn lives in Phoenix, but the profile does not say where Quinn can work.
Code checks only the resume's structure. Every entry in the Skills section has to match a skill in the profile, and every job title, employer, and date has to match an experience entry. A draft that fails either check is not used. Nothing checks the free text. The summary, the bullets, and the whole cover letter could still mention a skill, tool, or number the profile does not hold. Keeping them to the profile is an instruction to the model, not a check, so read every draft before you send it. If you do have a skill a posting asks for, add it to your profile before you generate.

Application for Administrative Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer at Example Solar Group
Dear Hiring Team,
The Administrative Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer role at Example Solar Group is the kind of executive support I do every day. At Example Desert Construction, I manage calendars and travel for our CEO and three vice presidents, and I process about 120 expense reports a month in Concur. I have eight years of experience supporting executives and office teams.
Your posting asks for someone who can keep the COO's week organized and prepare for operations meetings. For our weekly leadership meetings, I prepare the agendas, take the minutes, and track the action items, so I know what each leader has committed to. Supporting four executives at once means their calendars, travel, and meetings all run through me. I work in Outlook, Word, and Excel, and I hold the Microsoft Office Specialist: Word Associate certification.
Before that, at Sample Family Dental, I was the first voice many patients heard. I answered a six-line phone system, greeted patients, and scheduled appointments for four dentists and two hygienists. I also moved the practice's paper patient files into its new scheduling software over three months, which taught me to plan a change so the office kept running while it happened. My skills include calendar management, travel planning, meeting minutes, event planning, and vendor management, and I hold an associate degree in office administration from Sample Mesa Community College.
I would welcome a conversation about how I can support your COO and the operations team day to day. Thank you for your time and for considering my application.
Sincerely,
Quinn Sample
- The first sentence names the role and the company in full, and the opening leads with the scope of the current job.
- The safety meeting bullet is fifth in the profile, past the three highlights per role the letter sees, so the letter can only mention event planning from the skills list, without the 250-person detail.
- "Which taught me to plan a change so the office kept running" is a lesson the profile does not state. Read lines like it closely and cut any that are not true.
- It runs 255 words, within the 250 to 350 the model is asked for, and closes by asking for a conversation and thanking the reader.
- The letter is written from a shorter view of the profile: the three most recent roles with their first three highlights each, the first 12 skills, the certifications, and education without dates.

How this example was made: we wrote it by hand, following the instructions the generator gives the AI model and the checks it runs, rather than running the generator. A real draft from the same profile would word things differently.
